A 4K tri-laser projector for close-to-wall use delivers high brightness and quick response

AWOL Vision’s new LuxVision ultra-short-throw projector — first shown at Europe’s largest tech expo last month — is now open for pre-order, promising bright daytime viewing, gaming-friendly responsiveness, and an uncommon optical lens-shift option for UST units. The company is offering a launch bundle and a refundable reservation window before full retail sales begin.

Bright picture and gaming-ready motion

The LuxVision uses a triple-laser (RGB) light engine AWOL says delivers about 6,000 ISO lumens, a level intended to keep images vivid even in typical room lighting. That output is roughly double what the manufacturer’s Aetherion Series produces, and it aims to reduce the need to dim lights for casual viewing.

AWOL also highlights support for 4K at 120 Hz when feeding the projector through a cable. The company reports HDMI input lag can fall to approximately one millisecond at that setting when auto low latency mode and variable refresh are active. Dolby Vision Gaming support is slated for compatible titles, the firm says.

Optical lens shift and placement flexibility

Where LuxVision differentiates itself is lens mobility. AWOL markets this model as the first UST projector to include an optical vertical lens shift, enabling significant image movement without moving the projector itself.

Short 0.18:1 throw ratio lets a projector sit close to the wall for a 120-inch image.

The maker specifies a vertical offset capability in the range of 142–152 percent, which it says works “without cropping, scaling, or sacrificing true 4K detail.” In practice, the projector’s short 0.18:1 throw ratio means that placing the unit about 7.5 inches from a wall produces an image roughly 120 inches diagonal.

An optional upgrade adds multi-view functionality so several sources can be watched at once on the same screen, a feature aimed at households juggling sports, games and streaming simultaneously.

Software and other features

AWOL equips the LuxVision with Google TV and a suite of imaging technologies the company highlights, including dynamic IRIS control, wide color-gamut coverage, anti-reflective measures labeled Anti‑RBE, and strong native contrast performance. AWOL’s earlier product notes provide fuller technical detail for readers seeking deeper specification lists.

Pre-order, price and availability

The reservation period runs through November 2. Interested buyers can secure the launch offer with a refundable US$100 deposit; early reservations include a complimentary large screen. Orders move to final payment the following day: a balance of $5,899 is due on November 3, when shipping will begin for those units.

After the introductory window closes, AWOL lists the LuxVision’s suggested retail price at $5,999 for the projector alone. Reservations are handled through the LuxVision pre-order page.
