Yamaha’s 2026 Ténéré 700 World Raid adds extended range to the Ténéré lineup

Yamaha is bringing the 2026 Ténéré 700 World Raid to the U.S. this year, positioning it as a long-range version of the popular dual-sport Ténéré. The update focuses on increased fuel capacity, upgraded suspension, and electronics designed to make extended off-pavement travel more manageable and comfortable.

More range without a heavier feel

The most visible change is a pair of aluminum fuel tanks that raise capacity by 1.8 gallons to a total of 6.1 gallons. Yamaha says the revised fuel layout reduces sloshing on rough tracks and should extend the bike’s cruising range to roughly 300 miles on a full tank.

Suspension and off-road readiness

To handle more demanding terrain the World Raid receives stiffer, longer-travel components. Ground clearance grows to about 10 inches, and front suspension now uses an inverted 46mm KYB fork—bumped up from the base model’s 43mm—that provides 9.1 inches of travel with preload, compression, and rebound adjustment.

Longer-travel KYB fork and Monocross shock improve off-road capability and ground clearance.

The rear setup replaces the standard shock with a KYB Monocross unit fitted with an external oil reservoir. Rear wheel travel increases to 8.6 inches and the shock gains an additional 5mm of stroke. The new shock is fully adjustable, giving riders more control over chassis behavior in varied conditions.

Comfort and rider controls

Ergonomics have been revised for long-haul use. A one-piece rally seat raises the saddle height to 35 inches, while a redesigned windscreen and removable side deflectors improve rider protection from wind and debris.

Highway comfort gets a boost from standard cruise control, which Yamaha notes is usable from third gear upward. The World Raid also includes a speed limiter to help manage pace in populated areas. A 16-step steering damper lets riders tune steering feel for either pavement or rough trails, and an up-down quickshifter is available as an option.

Electronics package

A new six-axis IMU is at the center of the World Raid’s updated electronics. It supplies input to lean-sensitive traction and slide-control systems, each offering three settings—Street, Off-Road, and Off—so riders can dial support to suit conditions. Brake control has been updated as well to enable lean-sensitive cornering ABS.

The bike keeps a flexible throttle system with Yamaha Chip-controlled Throttle (YCC-T), allowing a switch between Sport and Explorer maps to alter power delivery. Instrumentation is a vertical 6.3-inch full-color TFT display with Bluetooth pairing and compatibility with the Yamaha MyRide app.

Brakes, colors and price

Stopping power remains a strong point. The World Raid is equipped with Brembo brake hardware, now plumbed with braided steel lines and featuring dual 282mm discs up front and a 245mm disc at the rear.

Yamaha will offer the 2026 Ténéré 700 World Raid in two finishes—Redline White and Midnight Black—with a U.S. starting price of $12,999.
