Silverstone produced a memorable weekend in the fourth round of the inaugural FIM Harley‑Davidson Bagger World Cup, with home wildcard Bradley Smith taking a stirring Race 1 win and Archie McDonald setting a new lap record before dominating Race 2. The results tightened the title race and underlined how quickly the series is evolving on the world stage.
Qualifying: McDonald breaks the lap record
Joe Rascal Racing’s Archie McDonald topped qualifying with a blistering 2:08.832 lap, ending teammate Eric Granado’s streak of three straight poles. The time established a new all‑time lap record for the Bagger category at Silverstone and made McDonald only the second rider ever to claim pole in the series.

The performance drew notice for its pace: team and series officials highlighted that McDonald’s lap was roughly three‑tenths faster than the Moto3 all‑time record at the circuit, a sign of how competitive the bagger machines and their riders have become.

Race 1: Smith’s home triumph
Saturday belonged to Britain’s Bradley Smith. Racing as a ParkinGO wildcard, Smith surged into the lead early and held on to win in front of the home crowd at Silverstone, one of more than 105,000 spectators attending the MotoGP weekend.

The victory added a unique chapter to Smith’s career. Having previously reached podiums in Moto3, Moto2, MotoGP and MotoE, the Silverstone win made him the only rider to achieve podium finishes across five MotoGP‑linked categories, now including the Bagger World Cup. Behind him, Joe Rascal Racing teammates Archie McDonald and Eric Granado finished second and third.
The fight for the win tightened on the final lap: McDonald posted a 2:09.030 while Smith answered with a personal best of 2:09.384 to secure the checkered flag.
Race 2: McDonald completes a weekend sweep for Joe Rascal
On Sunday McDonald took control from the start. The 20‑year‑old produced a dominant performance to claim his second victory of the season and his first since winning the series opener at Circuit of The Americas.
McDonald led an all‑Joe Rascal Racing podium, with Eric Granado second and Jordi Torres third — a strong result for the Australian‑run team and a clear demonstration of their pace across the weekend.
Voices from the paddock
Harley‑Davidson’s Director of Global Racing Programs, Jeffrey Schuessler, described Silverstone as evidence of the championship’s rapid development. He praised the close racing, rising grid standard and McDonald’s lap as an example of the motorcycles’ and riders’ growing performance. Schuessler also highlighted the significance of Smith’s wildcard win and welcomed young rider Max Toth’s promising debut with Saddlemen Race Development.
Smith reflected on the personal importance of his home victory, thanking Harley‑Davidson, ParkinGO and his team for the long hours that led to the result. McDonald spoke emotionally about the challenges he has overcome this year, crediting his coach Angel Poyatos, his family and Joe Rascal Racing for their support.
