If you haven’t come across the Rever app already it’s worth a look and now it’s got an additional boost in the form of BMW backing.
Launched last year, Rever is a motorcycling-specific app that tracks rides and helps you plan trips and rides by drawing on the experiences of others who’ve been there before. It’s available on iOS and Android and is free in its basic form. There’s also the option to subscribe to gain access to more advanced features.
Although not restricted to BMW riders, the Bavarian firm has now invested in Rever. It’s also formed a strategic partnership that will see the companies working together in the future.
Heiner Faust, Vice President Sales and Marketing of BMW Motorrad, explained the tie-in.
“We see the future of motorcycling as a connected experience,” he said, “One that has riders using the latest technology to enhance their rides and allow others to share their passion for riding. Rever is offering a very promising mobile technology in our industry and we are very excited about the future business potential we see together with Rever.”
Rever co-founder Justin Bradshaw added: “Motorcyclists are extremely passionate, adventurous people but we’ve lacked a motorcycle specific environment to share our passions, experiences and ideas. Working with BMW, we will bring innovative technology to the fore and make the entire motorcycle riding experience more accessible, more rewarding and more connected.”
Mark Roebke, Rever’s CEO and co-founder: “We are really excited to be incorporating new technology to enhance riding experience and grow the enthusiasm for motorcycling around the world.”
BMW explains Rever as being a “global community of motorcycle enthusiasts” that can used the app and website to “discover the best places to ride, track activities and navigate and share motorcycling experiences.”
The premium membership version, costing $59.99 per year, adds access to Butler Maps segments, custom safety alerts, a friend tracker and other bonus features. You can find out more at Rever’s website
