A combination of improving market conditions and a strong range have seen BMW’s global motorcycle sales rise by 10.9%, with 2015 marking the fifth consecutive year that they’ve seen an increase.
Overall in 2015, the firm sold 136,963 bikes, compared to 123,495 in 2014. With the R1200 GS seemingly impossible to shift from the number one spot in the sales charts in several European countries despite the best efforts of rivals with their own big adventure bikes, BMW’s continued growth comes as little surprise. The firm has also recently revealed that it’s American sales are on the up, with the S1000RR leading the way in the American market with a 13.3% share of BMW Motorrad’s sales on that side of the Atlantic, followed by the R1200 GS Adventure, R1200 GS, S1000XR and S1000R.
