Pit Stop Café reopens after restoration

A new café has opened inside the MotoGB dealership at Chester Road Motorcycles in Shotton, Deeside, offering riders a place to eat as well as browse bikes and accessories. The Pit Stop café pairs cooked-to-order breakfasts with showroom access, creating a combined stop for morning rides and bike shopping.

Owners Chris Bonney and Shirley Furey converted a previously unused space into the café in about a month, drawing on their hospitality experience to build the kitchen and shape the menu. They emphasize fresh preparation: dishes are made to order and presented with an eye for quality.

The menu features hearty options, including a traditional Full English, Cornish pasties shipped from Cornwall and locally sourced sausage rolls. The proprietors say customers have praised the sausages and portion sizes, and the pair have tailored the offering to linger over breakfast or grab a quick stop before hitting the road.

Beyond food, the site remains a working dealership. Under one roof visitors will find new models from around 14 brands, pre-owned bikes and a selection of accessories. That combination—café plus showroom—means patrons often arrive for coffee and end up leaving with more than they expected.

  • Opening hours: Mon–Fri 8:30am–3pm; Sat 9am–4pm; Sun 11am–3pm
  • Location: Chester Road Motorcycles, Shotton, Deeside CH5 1BY

Practical amenities make the stop rider-friendly: there is parking and space to leave helmets while customers eat. The café also sits close to several popular riding routes along the North Wales coast, making it an easy breakfast or meetup point for group runs.

Over The Border

A recommended ride to the dealership follows the B5129 to the A548, then continues along the coastal stretch onto the Rhyl Coast Road. From there, head left toward Rhuddlan and join the A525 toward Ruthin. Riders can pause at the Chain & Sprocket for a break before taking the A525 through Nant Y Garth pass, over Horseshoe Pass and onto the A539 to the A483.

From the A483 the route reconnects to the A525, then follows local links including the B5430 and A5104 before using the A550 into Shotton—an enjoyable loop that combines coastal views with well-known mountain passes for a varied ride.
