The Honda X-ADV is one of the strangest new bikes of 2017, combining the performance of a motorcycle with the convenience of a scooter and the style of an adventure bike. The X-ADV price revealed recently in Italy shows it’s not cheap, though.

While Honda has yet to reveal the bike’s final price in most countries, the cost in Italy – where the model was designed and is expected to be most successful – has leaked. If rumours are correct, it will set Italian buyers back €11,490. The first 100 Italian buyers are expected to be able to spend a little more – €11,740 – and get a top box and a Tom Tom GPS into the bargain as well.

The price puts the bike €2000 above the cost of a Honda Integra, which has the same engine and DCT gearbox as the X-ADV. The more off-road-style NC750X is also around €2000 cheaper.

We never expected the X-ADV to be low-priced. If the Italian price is carried over to the rest of Europe, the bike will be around as expensive as the NM4 Vultus, which is currently the priciest of the models to use the 750cc parallel twin engine and DCT. As such, the Vultus has been a relatively low-volume model, and the same could well apply to the X-ADV.
