Honda Europe to update the 2027 CBR600RR

Honda Europe has unveiled modest updates to the 2027 CBR600RR, a middleweight sportbike that could finally reach U.S. showrooms if Honda decides to bring the current-generation model stateside. The changes focus on aerodynamics, braking hardware and electronics rather than mechanical upgrades.

Small styling shift, big intent

The most visible change for 2027 is a redesigned front end that blends the earlier winglets into the fairing. Honda describes the new element more as a front spoiler than separate winglets. The company says the revision preserves downforce and drag characteristics while also directing airflow away from the rider to reduce buffeting.

Visually, the bike presents a cleaner silhouette. Functionally, Honda reports no compromise in the aerodynamics that were introduced in the 2024 model.

Upgraded brakes and smarter ABS

Honda replaced the previous Tokico front calipers with Nissin four-piston radial-mount calipers—the same hardware used on the CBR1000RR‑R Fireblade. The change is intended to improve heat resistance during heavy braking. The calipers are paired with a new anti-lock braking module, also derived from the Fireblade.

The cornering ABS system continues to use a Bosch 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which also supports traction control and rear lift control. The ABS now offers three modes: Standard, Track and Race. Standard is tuned for general-use conditions including wet roads; Track removes rear lift control; Race disables rear ABS intervention so only front wheel slip is managed, enabling more aggressive braking on circuit.

Electronics, display and rider aids

Honda updated the cockpit display to a larger, five-inch color TFT, replacing the previous 4.2-inch screen. The ride-by-wire system retains three preset ride modes plus two user-configurable slots that link engine mapping, engine braking, traction control and wheelie control.

The bike also keeps its IMU-driven electronic suite and offers selectable levels of intervention to suit street or track use.

What’s unchanged

Mechanically, the 2027 CBR600RR carries over the powertrain and suspension from the 2024 model. It is powered by a 599cc, 16-valve inline-four that Honda claims produces 119 hp at 14,250 rpm and 46.5 lb-ft of torque at 11,500 rpm. The chassis still uses an aluminium twin-spar frame with a fully adjustable 41mm Showa Big Piston inverted fork up front and a fully adjustable Showa rear shock with linkage.

Additional equipment and options

Standard fitments include an electronic steering damper, cast aluminum wheels and an adjustable bidirectional quickshifter. Honda is offering a range of accessories and three dedicated race kits intended for circuit use only.

The 2027 CBR600RR will be available in two factory finishes: Ignition Red tricolor and Matt Ballistic Black Metallic.

Key specifications

Displacement 599 cc
Power (claimed) 119 hp @ 14,250 rpm
Torque (claimed) 46.5 lb‑ft @ 11,500 rpm

Honda introduced the current-generation CBR600RR in Japan and Thailand in 2021 and brought it to Europe in 2024. American buyers remain offered the older model that traces back to 2013; Honda has not confirmed a U.S. launch for this updated iteration.
