Honda’s Africa Twin is to star in a new National Geographic Channel show airing this month.
‘Riding Morocco: Chasing the Dakar’ takes the all-new Africa Twin back to the Paris-Dakar Rallye roots of its predecessor. It follows rally riding expert and former Dakar competitor Christophe Barriere-Varju as he traces the original Paris-Dakar route through Morocco.
He’s joined on the show by Australian model Laura Csortan, also riding an Africa Twin.
Unlike Christophe, she has no off-road riding experience, so will be learning as she goes.
The different abilities of the two riders gives Honda a chance to show off the unique technology of the Africa Twin, with Csortan riding a semi-automatic DCT version while Barrier-Varju handles the conventional manual-gearbox model.
We’re promised ‘adventures, challenges and encounters’ in Morocco as the pair make their way across the country.
Airing times and dates for the show vary between countries. In the UK it will be on at 17:00 on June 18th and repeated at 09:00 the following day. Viewers in the USA get to see it a day earlier, on June 17th at 18:00, while Canadians are getting a showing on June 15th at 18:00.
The show will be on throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America, too, so check local TV schedules in those countries to find out exact dates.
