Moto Morini announces new 2027 X-Cape 1200

Moto Morini has unveiled the 2027 X-Cape 1200, a large-displacement adventure bike that blends a classic V‑twin character with modern electronics. The update aims to deliver strong on-road performance and long-distance comfort while adding tech and convenience features that matter to touring riders.

Engine and chassis

At the heart of the X-Cape 1200 sits Moto Morini’s liquid-cooled Corsa Corta Evo V‑twin. The cylinder banks sit at an 87‑degree angle, and the powerplant uses dual overhead cams with eight valves per cylinder.

Moto Morini rates the motor at 129 horsepower and 78.2 lb‑ft of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mounted in a tubular steel trellis frame, and a bolt‑on, removable aluminum subframe carries the rider and luggage loads.

The 6.5‑gallon fuel tank is shaped to wrap around the engine. That packaging lowers the bike’s center of gravity, which the manufacturer says helps stability and handling.

Suspension, brakes and wheels

Suspension duties are handled by KYB components front and rear, with about 7.1 inches of travel. The 48mm inverted fork is adjustable for preload, compression and rebound. The rear progressive‑link shock offers compression and rebound adjustments plus a preload setting that can be changed with a tool‑less dial.

Stopping power comes from a Brembo setup at the front: four‑piston calipers biting twin 320mm discs. The bike runs tubeless spoked wheels—19 inches up front and 17 inches at the rear—shod as standard with Pirelli Scorpion Trail III rubber.

Electronics and rider aids

The X‑Cape 1200 adds a modern electronics suite built around a six‑axis inertial measurement unit. That IMU supports four ride modes, lean‑sensitive traction control and cornering ABS, and it also controls corner lights.

Other items included as standard are cruise control, a bidirectional quickshifter, tire pressure monitoring and a blind‑spot radar system. The rider interface is a seven‑inch TFT display with integrated navigation. Heated grips and a heated seat are also fitted from the factory.

Weight, ergonomics and pricing

Moto Morini lists the X‑Cape 1200’s dry weight at 523 pounds. The company calls that figure “remarkably low”; for context, it matches the claimed wet weight of a rival large‑displacement adventure bike.

Seat height is set at 33 inches, and ground clearance measures 7.5 inches—numbers that aim to balance touring comfort with off‑road capability.

Trim, warranty and availability

For 2027 the X‑Cape 1200 will be offered in a new Carrara White finish alongside the traditional Italian Red. Moto Morini has priced the model at $12,999, and the motorcycle comes with a three‑year unlimited warranty.

  • Key standard features: IMU‑based ride modes, cornering ABS, blind‑spot radar, heated grips and seat.
