KTM unveils 2027 690 Rally adventure motorcycle

Show summary Hide summary

KTM is reviving its long-distance adventure lineage with the 2027 KTM 690 Rally, a model the company calls a spiritual successor to the old KTM 640 Adventure. The new bike builds on the existing 690 Enduro R platform while adding features aimed at extended touring and rally-style navigation.

Design and rider interface

The most visible change is a tall rally tower that incorporates a windscreen and a compact display cluster. KTM fitted a new 4.2-inch TFT screen low on the tower to show ride information, modes and basic navigation without blocking the rider’s view.

The styling leans into functional rally cues rather than cosmetic overhaul. Aside from the tower and screen, the 690 Rally retains the Enduro R’s silhouette and ergonomics.

Electronics and ride modes

Electronics get an upgrade to match the Rally’s purpose. Two preset modes—**Street** and **Off-road**—come standard. Riders can opt for a separate **Rally** mode that allows full adjustment of traction control and throttle response.

The package also includes cornering ABS, traction control and a slip-control function that activates when Rally mode is selected. These systems aim to balance rider control across mixed surfaces.

Fuel capacity and range

To extend range between stops, KTM replaced the Enduro’s single tank with a split design. The new arrangement raises capacity to 5.28 gallons, up from the Enduro’s 3.5 gallons.

Engine and performance

Powertrain duties remain unchanged. The 690 Rally uses the same 692cc single-cylinder engine as the Enduro R, rated at about 77 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque. Expect similar on-road and off-road performance to the donor bike.

Chassis, suspension and brakes

Suspension is built around a 48mm inverted WP Xplor fork with 10.43 inches of travel. The rear WP Xplor shock differs slightly from the Enduro’s unit because it offers variable travel.

Both fork and shock are adjustable: the fork allows compression and rebound tuning, while the shock adds preload adjustment along with compression and rebound settings.

Braking components carry over unchanged. The front uses a 300mm disc with Brembo dual-piston calipers; the rear runs a 240mm disc with a single Brembo caliper.

Dimensions and weight

Seat height and ground clearance remain the same as the Enduro R—36.8 inches and 10.4 inches, respectively. However, the Rally’s dry weight is roughly 22 pounds heavier, listed at about 365 pounds. Filling the larger fuel tank will add a few more pounds.

Availability

KTM plans to offer the 2027 690 Rally from October 2026 in a white, orange and blue color scheme. The manufacturer had not released an MSRP at the time of reporting.
