Two new versions of the CBR1000RR shown

Honda Fireblade special editions

Honda has revealed a brace of new special-edition Fireblades in the UK with a smattering of aftermarket parts.

First up we get the TT Special, which is based on the high-end Fireblade SP. As an SP, it alreadyh has Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension as well as an HRC tricolour paint scheme. The extras that turn it into a ‘TT Special’ include an Akrapovic exhaust, Gilles FX levers, a tail tidy and Galfer brake discs. There are also Gilles chain adjusters and paddock stand lifters.

It’s a nice set of parts but it’s not easy to see that they alone justify the £16,999 price tag – that’s £2500 more than the normal ‘SP’ version of the Fireblade without the extras.

The second new model is the Black Edition. Based on the stock Fireblade rather than the SP, it’s only £12,199 – the same price as a standard bike. That means the extras are effectively free.

On the Black Edition you get a smoked, high windscreen, a carbon hugger, Gilles FX levers and Galfer wave discs. As the name suggests, it’s only available in black, and if you want the same extras on the other available colour option – a Repsol replica – you’ll have to pay for them separately.
