CFMoto has unveiled its 2027 Ibex 950 adventure bike, a model that pairs an established Chinese chassis with a well-known Austrian engine. The result is an entry-priced mid-range ADV that borrows heavily from existing designs while introducing a larger-displacement powerplant.
Shared underpinnings and a familiar heart
The Ibex 950 uses much of the same bodywork and frame architecture found on CFMoto’s Ibex 800. The tubular steel frame and aluminum swingarm remain, as does the bike’s overall packaging.

Under the skin, however, sits a different engine. CFMoto fitted KTM’s liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin—the 990 LC8c—into this adventure platform. That motor is already known from the KTM 990 Duke and is expected to appear in KTM’s revived 990 Adventure, but CFMoto has brought it to market first.
Power and drivetrain details
The engine displaces 946cc and has been detuned for this application. Output is rated at 112 hp at 8,500 rpm with 77.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 rpm. Power is routed through a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.

Because the unit is under 1,000 cc, CFMoto is marketing the model in North America as the Ibex 950, rather than using the larger-sounding 1000MT-X name employed in some other regions.
Chassis, fuel capacity and weight
The Ibex 950 retains a 5.9-gallon fuel tank mounted on the shared frame. When filled, the bike’s curb weight comes to about 489 pounds.
Suspension and stopping power
Both ends use KYB hardware: a 48mm inverted fork up front and a KYB rear shock. Each offers 9.1 inches of travel and adjustment for preload, rebound and compression.
Stopping force comes from Brembo brakes. Up front are dual 320mm floating rotors with radially mounted four-piston calipers. The rear uses a single 260mm disc with a one‑piston caliper.
Electronics, comfort and ergonomics
An upright, vertical 8-inch TFT touchscreen serves as the cockpit. It controls four selectable ride modes—Standard, Rain, Off-road and All-terrain—along with a three-level traction-control system and cruise control.
Rider comfort and weather protection are addressed with an adjustable windscreen and standard handguards. Heated grips and a heated seat are included as standard equipment. Seat height measures 34.3 inches.
Colors and pricing
CFMoto will offer the 2027 Ibex 950 in Tactical Green and Nebula Black. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price in the U.S. is $12,499, placing the model competitively in the mid-range adventure-bike segment.
