The full 2018 Indian range has been revealed even though the bikes won’t be available until early next year.

The most interesting new model is the Scout Bobber that we have already shown. But Indian is also launching a new Roadmaster Elite and Springfield Dark Horse.

The Roadmaster Elite (above) is a limited-edition, top-of-the-range machine. Indian will only sell 300 of the blue-and-black bikes. The kit includes a 300w stereo and 23K gold leaf on the fuel tank logo. Meanwhile the Springfield Dark Horse (right) continues Indian’s usual ‘Dark Horse’ theme. It’s all-black, with an open front fender and 19in front wheel. It also has a removable screen.

Grant Bester, General Manager for Indian Motorcycle in the EMEA region, said: “We continue to see positive growth in sales, both in the heavyweight and mid-size categories.

“For this new model year we welcome the addition of Scout Bobber to the Scout family. This really is a beautiful looking machine and has the engaging ride to match. We can’t wait to see Scout Bobber arrive in dealers later this year.

“Whether you want a motorcycle for long tours with a comfortable seat for a passenger or something stylish for the weekends, Indian now has at least one model in the line-up that will appeal.”

Reid Wilson, Marketing Director for Indian Motorcycle adds: “The Roadmaster Elite and Springfield Dark Horse are two fantastic motorcycles, with two different attitudes. The Roadmaster Elite packs all the bells and whistles perfect for riders looking for the best of the best, while the Dark Horse brings blacked-out style to the Springfield line.

“Beyond these two offerings, we have elevated each and every model – listening to our consumers to bring new features and colours they have asked for.”

Other 2018 Indian changes

Elsewhere in the range there are new colours for many of the models. The 2018 Indian Scout receives a standard pillion seat and new cartridge forks. The Chief Classic gains whitewall tyres and spoked wheels. The Chief Vintage now has black leather bags and seat on black or silver versions.

The 2018 Indian Chieftain is revised, getting a 19in front wheel and open front fender, as does the Chieftain Dark Horse. The old Chieftain, with the valanced front fender,  becomes the Chieftain Classic.
