BMW has mildly tweaked its F800GS and F700GS parallel twins for 2016 but apart from the colour schemes you’d be hard-pressed to tell the difference.
In fact there are a handful of changes. Both models get a new fuel tank cover design and revised ignition lock, plus the addition of electroplated elements in the bodywork to give a metallic look.
The firm has also added a new design of seats on both bikes, with five possible seat heights and four different seat designs, along with the option of lowered suspension, giving a potential range of heights from 765mm for the lowest version of the F700GS all the way up to 920mm for the tallest variant of the F800GS.
Technically, the bikes are unaltered, both sharing the same basic 798cc parallel twin, tuned for 75bhp in the F700GS and 85bhp in the F800GS. ABS brakes are standard, and optional extras include ASC stability control and ESA electronic suspension adjustment.
