Kyle Ryde wins Race One at Donington Park for his 15th win of the 2026 season

Show summary Hide summary

Kyle Ryde moved significantly closer to a third straight British Superbike crown after winning Race One at Donington Park, claiming his 15th victory of the season. The result extends his lead just as the championship reaches its closing rounds, leaving title rival Scott Redding under pressure with five races to go.

How the race unfolded

Ryde did not have an easy start. He fell as low as fifth early on but methodically sliced through the field over the opening laps.

On lap three he engaged in a fierce exchange with Redding, trading places at the Foggy Esses and again at the Melbourne Loop. By lap seven Ryde was on the rear wheel of race leader Ryan Vickers, attempting an ambitious move through Craner Curves before forcing his way past on the inside at Schwantz.

Once into the lead Ryde dictated pace. He recorded the race’s fastest laps on laps 15 and 16 and crossed the line 1.260 seconds clear of Vickers to take the chequered flag.

Championship picture

The win stretches Ryde’s advantage to a commanding 75 points over Redding, who finished fourth. With only five races remaining this season, Ryde’s consistency has become the decisive factor in the title fight.

His season so far is remarkable: 15 wins from 28 races and 27 podium finishes. The Donington success was Ryde’s 13th at his home circuit and the 39th victory of his Superbike career.
