With Daytona Bike Week in full swing it’s no surprise to see a few new cruisers being launched but Indian managed to unveil a special-edition version of the Springfield just a day after the model was announced.

The Jack Daniels Edition Springfield and a similarly-themed Chief Vintage have been designed with the help of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles of South Dakota and mark the latest step in the tie-up between Indian and the distillery. Recognising that riding and alcohol aren’t a good combination, the bikes are part of Jack Daniel’s ‘Bottles and Throttles Don’t Mix’ awareness campaign.

Part of the 150th anniversary of Jack Daniel Distillery, the bikes will be made as a limited run of just 150 of each model.

Special features include a smattering of J.D logos and the names of the seven master distillers who have been in place at Jack Daniels over the last 150 years are inscribed on the fender. There’s also white stitching on the seats, side panels with the Jack Daniel’s ‘Old No. 7’ logo and a black tail light housing.

The bikes are to be hand-painted, and the first to be made will be auctioned in October by Barrett Jackson in Las Vegas. Other customers will actually receive their bikes earlier than that, with deliveries guaranteed to be before August this year.

“This is the first time in Jack Daniel’s history that it is has aligned with a vehicle manufacturer,” said Dave Stang, Director of Events & Sponsorships for Jack Daniel’s. “Using these new, limited edition motorcycles to help the ‘Operation Ride Home’ program serves as the perfect pairing for these two classic American brands.”

“Indian Motorcycle and Jack Daniels are ideal partners to work together,” said Steve Menneto, President of Motorcycles for Polaris Industries. “We share the respect for history and the desire to promote responsible riding. These two models will be instant collectors’ items, and more importantly are fantastic motorcycles to ride every day.”
