Suzuki has revealed a GSX-R1000 MotoGP replica alongside the official colour scheme that its 2018 MotoGP machines will wear.
Both the GSX-R1000 and the GSX-R1000R will be available in the new colours, which closely match the ones used on the race bikes.
The bikes made their debut at the preseason MotoGP test at Sepang in Malaysia. The colours aren’t a big change from last year’s but the road bike’s feature more black and gain an Ecstar logo.
As Suzuki is keen to point out, the GSX-R1000 is arguably closer to its MotoGP sister than most superbikes. The innovative variable valve timing system, unique in road bike terms to the GSX-R, came straight from the racer. The electronics, including lean-sensitive traction control and launch control, are also MotoGP-derived.
The GSX-R1000 MotoGP Replica will be in dealers in March. The base version costs £13,599 while the ‘R’ is £16,099 in the UK. For more information, click here.
