Ducati has hinted that it will reveal its all-new V4 superbike on 7th September this year at Misano.
In a simple press release, the firm said:
There’s no further information at the moment, but the ‘sound of a new era’ surely hints at the move away from the rumble of V-twins and towards a higher-revving V4.
What do we know about the V4 superbike?
Ducati’s development of the new bike is no secret. The company has already confirmed its existence. The fact it has launched a ‘Final Edition‘ of the 1299 Panigale is further proof that its replacement is coming soon.
The new bike, which has been spied on test, will use a semi-monocoque frame and a V4 derived from the latest Desmosedici MotoGP bike’s engine.
The Panigale will soldier on in WSB for another year. It’s confirmed as Ducati’s front line race bike for 2018, giving an extra year to develop the racing version of the new V4 superbike.
